How long between order and delivery?

AYYA takes pride in the fact that all of our items are hand made at our beautiful workshop in Bali, Indonesia. Our crew is meticulous and artful with every creation. Please factor in the time it may take to produce your item, which can be 3-5 weeks during our most busy months. We do offer a Rush option; for a US$50 fee, your items go to the front of the production line, and you’ll have your order 2 weeks faster.

Shipping time is dependent on stock and destination. We usually have a small inventory of items. If your order is in stock, it can be shipped immediately from our warehouse in California via USPS Priority Mail (arriving in 2-3 days) if shipped within the U.S., or Priority International Mail (6-10 days) for non-U.S. addresses. Otherwise, your order will ship via TNT (3-5 days) from our workshop in Bali, Indonesia. Shipping from Bali to a P.O. BOX address will add 1-2 weeks to your shipping time.

When your shipment has been sent, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. We are required to provide commercial invoices for all orders, including a physical street address and phone number. If you are concerned about shipping or would like a more detailed estimate for a potential order, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you.

If you have not received your package within two weeks of our shipping confirmation email, please check your local post office or customs office. Your country may require you to pay additional duty fees.

What if I'm away or have no way to be reached?

Our primary shipping is TNT. If you provide the wrong address, or if nobody is home, TNT will try to contact you by telephone, and then attempt delivery two more times.

It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you provide a valid phone number. If you have travel plans in the near future, leave the phone number of a trusted friend. But if TNT is unable to contact you for 30 days, one of two very sad things will happen:
  • 1) The package will get sent back to us, and we will have to pay return shipping, plus import tax, which can be around 30% of the total invoice amount. In this case, we will either (a) refund your order MINUS the ~30% return fee, or (b) we can ship again when you pay the ~30% return fee plus the cost of re-shipping.
  • 2) The package will be destroyed. This only happens when a customs official (who probably wants the items for themselves) declares the value of the shipment to be much higher than it is. This has only happened a few times over the years, but it happens. In this case, it is more expensive to receive the return than to re-make and re-ship. If this happens, we will (a) refund 50% of your order, or (b) make and ship the items again at 1/2 off.
This mess can be entirely avoided by leaving a reliable phone number.
